Dyers Eve WOTLK Raiding System

1.0 Raid Classification

Dyers Eve raiding will consist of 10 and 25 man raids on all three WOTLK raid instances. Raid status for these instances will be one of the following:

  1. Progression - These raids are actively being completed to further guild progression. Only guild officers are able to schedule raids for progression, and the raid times will normally fall within standard raid days and times. Under special circumstances special days and times will be scheduled as necessary.

  1. Guild PUG - These raids allow the member ranks and others interested to gear up.   Guild officers and guild veterans may schedule raids for Guild PUG. The purpose of a guild pug raid is to gear up alts, and other members of the guild that are not necessarily in every progression raid. These raids will not be scheduled to conflict with normal progression raid days/times. In the event that there is a conflict (such as a specially scheduled progression raid) the progression raid will take precedence and  requested players will be required to join the progression raid.

  1. PUG - Once a particular raid instance is deemed farmed out and of no progression value it will be placed on complete PUG status.

Current Raid Status (As of November 9th 2008):

  • The Vault of Archavon 10 man - Progression
  • The Vault of Archavon 25 man - Progression
  • The Obsidian Sanctuary 10 man - Progression
  • The Obsidian Sanctuary 25 man - Progression
  • Naxxramas 10 man - Progression
  • Naxxramas 25 man - Progression
  • Sunwell 25 man - Progression
  • Black Temple 25 man - Guild PUG
  • Battle of Mt. Hyjal 25 man - Guild PUG
  • Tempest Keep 25 man - PUG
  • Serpentshrine Cavern 25 man - PUG
  • Zul'Aman 10 man - PUG
  • Karazhan 10 man – PUG

2.0 Loot System

The loot system will apply to raids that are considered progression status. Initially at the release of WOTLK this will consist of all WOTLK 10/25 man raid content. As the guild progresses through WOTLK certain raids will be opened up to Guild PUG, and PUG status as appropriate. Guild PUG and PUG raids will utilize a standard Dyers Eve dice roll system. Final loot assignment decisions will be made by the Raid Leader and/or the Officer Council.

Attendance

Players will be required to maintain a 50% average attendance for all raids in order to be eligible to bid. This means that if you're attendance average (including the current raid night) is not at least 50% you will be unable to bid on any items, however you will continue to accrue points. Attendance averages will be tracked and viewable on the website via Guild-o-matic. In certain circumstances players will miss raids due to circumstances beyond their control. A player may ask the Officers for a pass during these times, such as vacations or other personal obligations so that the raid calendar does not count against their average. Excessive use of this can result in a point subtraction, or other disciplinary action as described herein.

At the beginning of WOTLK or in the event of a guild attendance reset, all players will be considered eligible to bid for the first two weeks. After the initial two week tenure period average attendance will be enforced.

If a player has not raided for two weeks, they will be demoted to a non-raiding rank and therefore have no raid priority. In order to become an eligible raid participant again this player must complete a 2 week raid schedule with an average attendance of 50% before becoming eligible to bid on items. Attendance shall be judged based on availability. After the successful completion of this 2 week re-initiation period, they will inherit their new attendance average and their old record will be removed. Special situations may be dealt with individually at the discretion of the Officer council.

Point accumulation

  • 100 points base assigned per raid night per player.
  • 50 points base assigned per raid night per substitute player.
  • 10 points assigned per player per boss kill.

In the event a player leaves the raid early and gives notice, he/she will retain their 100 points. A sub will be brought in who will be awarded 50 points base. If a player leaves the raid early and does not give any notice, he/she will lose all points for the raid at the discretion of the raid leader.

Tracking of points will be done via raid attendance, and boss killings as tracked by the Dyers Eve website. All point accumulations, and raid attendance data will be viewable by all members at any time. Players may save points and spend them as they see fit. There is no mechanism to remove points from players over time or redistribute spent points to the group.

At the discretion of the Officers a global point adjustment may be made to combat inflation or for other similar reasons.

Point subtraction

These guidelines will be followed in the event that a point subtraction.

1)    Point subtractions can be issued in the event of a player attempting to manipulate the system to the detriment or advantage of other players.

2)    Point subtractions can be issued in the event that a player performs an action that is a serious violation of guild policy. These subtractions will generally be accompanied by removal from the raid group.

3)    Players that receive three separate point deductions for any reason will be demoted and other guild guidelines for disciplinary action will apply.

4)    Players who go away from keyboard or otherwise become unresponsive in the middle of a raid may have points subtracted.

5)    Point subtractions are at the sole discretion of the raid leader. Protests of point subtractions should be directed to the officer council for review.

These guidelines are intended to be a baseline for the decision making process surrounding point subtractions. In the spirit of these rules, point subtractions are considered to be drastic measures and similar to outright removal from the raid group in severity.

Item costs

Items that drop in a particular instance will have a base cost assigned to them by the Officer council prior to the guild raiding said instance. These values will be posted

on the guild website, and viewable for all members so that they may better plan how they intend to spend their points. The base bid for all standard epic items will be based off of the itemlevel of the particular item.

Guild veterans may also work with the Officer council which shall be referred to as the loot council. These collaborative efforts may also be used to assign bid values for items. If there is a disagreement as to what the base bid for an item shall be, the raid leader will have final say as to which value should be used.

Bidding

Points will be spent by bidding for items. The item auction will take place directly after the boss is downed. All players will be alive before the auction begins.

The bidding will be considered raid public information and will be posted to the group. For the purposes of keeping raid chat clear, a separate channel will be used for bidding. The bidding channel will be "DyersRaid". Bidding will consist of 2 rounds. Round 1 will be for primary spec, round 2 will be for offspec. Spec is defined by role, meaning that there DPS, Heal, and Tank roles. If an item is shared between two roles either may bid on it in the first round of bidding.

Round 1

Players will only be allowed to bid on gear in their primary role during round 1. For example, if a tanking item drops and a healer would also like that item for their tanking set, the healer will have to wait until the 2nd round of bidding. Bidding increments will be 5 points, unless a player is bidding all of his points and goes all in.

In the event of a tie, which is reached due to players either having no more points, or not wishing to bid any more points a simple dice roll will be used as a tiebreaker.

The currency first round bidding will be points. Player?s point balances will be determined at the beginning of raid time. Points accrued during the current raid are not eligible to be spent. At no time will a player be allowed to spend more points than he/she has available.

Round 2

If after the first round of bidding there are no bids, the item will go to round 2 offspec. The currency for round 2 bidding will be standard dice rolls. Players may roll for items with the highest roll winning the item. In the event two of the items are available, the top two rolls shall be taken. In the event of a player winning many offspec rolls, the raid leader may at his/her discretion redirect loot as seen fit. These decisions are final.

Bidding errors

Occasionally erroneous bids may be placed. It is a players responsibility to ensure they bid correctly for items. The raid leader will have final descretion on the amount charged for items in the event someone makes a mistake. Any corrections made will be documented.

3.0 Item Distribution

Occasionally there are items that while good for two roles, are clearly better for one of them. It is also possible that for the betterment of the guild a particular role needs priority. In this case bidding will be closed to only one role at the sole discretion of the Officer council, and/or Raid Leader. It is encouraged that the veteran raiders purchase items and pass them to the player in need before closing bidding to particular roles. These decisions may be made depending on the status of the guild, the current understanding of raid itemization by the Officer council and/or raid leader, and game patches which may change the effectiveness of particular stats for different roles and/or player classes.

Patterns, Plans, Schematics, Formulas, etc

Patterns which create Bind on Equip (BOE) items that are deemed by the Raid Leader to be vital to guild progression will be assigned at Raid Leader and/or Officer Council discretion for the initial drops. This is to ensure that the patterns remain available to the guild for crafting purposes.

4.0 Raid Leader discretion

Raid leader discretion is final in matters surrounding loot distribution. By attending a Dyers Eve raid you are accepting the raid leader's judgment on the distribution of items. If there has been a legitimate error made, you may bring it up after the raid at which time whatever can be done to rectify the problem will be done. Please do so in a respectful manner.

5.0 Amendments and Changes

Amendments and changes to the loot system can be made by the Officer council only. In order for a change to become binding it must pass a vote by the Officer Council. All changes must be applied to these rules by the start of raid time.
